Golf TDI Question

Hi All,
Picked up a Golf 110 TDI last night and want to check the ECU to see if it has been chipped or had a box fitted, as it pulls much harder than I was expecting
. If it hasn't then I'll have to get one Anyone know where to look?
Also anyone know of a good BBS, I've tried a couple but they only seem to post one message a day. Bit boring after here.
