Boxster Rear Wing...
I drove past a Porsche Boxster today on the M25, it was obviously going fast enough to get the rear wing to pop up. My question is this... would a wing that small really have a downforce effect on the car? I mean it was tiny, I'm not saying it would have no effect but I struggle to see that it would produce much downforce.
Its not causing me to lose sleep, but I'm interested in what other people think.

I know what you mean they are a piddly little thing.
It might stabilize it but i wouldn't have thought it would do much, but having said that do you remember the problems the original Audi TT have when it was launched in which few flipped over at very high speeds?
This was solved with a pokey little spoiler that looked a bit of an afterthought but it seemed to do the trick.

Yes they do work; conventional to the belief that you need a dinner tray on your boot, you don't need much to generate a decent amount of downforce at high speeds.
Sti owners take note

There is a load of mathematics to calculate it if your really that interested.
