GTR Depreciation
Seems to be taking hold. A lot of cars for sale and they are now coming down into the £40ks.
There can't be that many cars in the UK and there are at least thirty for sale. If I had waited I may have used the GT3 money to get one.
In the time I have owned the GT3 the value as remained unchanged and the GTRs have gone from £55k to £45k for an early 2008 model!

Who cares...
Drive now, worry later.
If you want what you want, now, its going to cost you.......if you worry about how much its going to cost, then wait until everyones got one, then there will be something else.

It is not unfair to the £40k odd I have invested in my GT3 though so all this talk of depreciation curves comes to nought when it is real money in your pocket.
The GTR is a much quicker car though, even compared to the finest RWD car under £100k every made

My guess is that they are imported GTRs falling down as the UK ones are now on the market.
In regard to depreciation, well that's a fact of life and you always pay to play. A new impreza will lose the best part of 45% of it value in 3 years, i would still expect to get the same if not even more deprection on the GTR as the maintence costs are higher, however i would imagine in 3 years a well looked after example should still fetch circa £30k so that is acceptable to me. It's only money, you cant take it with you once your dead, but you can have a huge smile on your face while you're alive!
However glad mine is a UK model as engine and transmission lights came on yesterday so guess it'll need to go the HPC and i know i am covered, not so much luck for those crimping on a cheaper import!

I actually think they look great, whilst i dont think they're a pretty car i think they have a great road presence and look aggressive and intimidating.
A car can look pretty but for me not desirable i.e. the new Audi TT, the GTR whilst not pretty is very desirable and looks the part.
Definetely looks a lot better in the flesh.

If you want a fast car, buy the real thing as our Japanese friends designed it.
Not a watered down EU friendly model, that has been strangled by some bloke wearing sandles and a mohair rope dyed tanktop.
As for warranty, I would say that 70% of all GT-R owners have mods that would void warranty anyway, OK they may be bolt on bolt off, but there you have it.

There are only two R35 in the 10s on the quarter so far in Europe - one (the slightly faster one) is a UK car, the second fastest is JDM, only a whisker away but using launch control. Same mapper , although only the UK car the time of the runs had improvements to boost control logic, UK has intercooler, JDM has actuators.
There really is no significant difference between them.

GTR is an awesome car, and i think it looks fantastic.
However, GT3 all day for me.
Also (and slightly off topic) i have spoken to several people who have decided against the GTR, as Nissan seem to be so strick with the warranty and they are wondering why they are being so strick?
I know of one guy who didn't run the engine in (yep, his own fault, and could happen to any car) and the engine blew after 800 miles.
