Default Blocked Cat????????

I have recently bought a diesel Transit van, it is gutless and cantfeel the turbo kicking in or hear it, yes I know it not my scooby.

Last weekend I chng the oil, air and fuel filter, the airfilter that was fitted was in bits, just a rubber band with a few pieces of filter attached.

The turbo spins free, but would the pieces of filter block the Cat, and do they need one for the MOT? I was thinking about breaking the element up inside the can??

Thanks peeps

The filter would not get past the induction stage or anywhere near the cat. it would need to pass through the intercooler and injectors though the induction compression power and exhaust stages and then past the exhaust valves - not likely.

change the air filter, clear out all the old bits thay may be blocking the induction side and take it for a good run at high revs.

Unlikely the cat is blocked though.

Little bits of filter clogging up and/or wrecking the turbo might explain why it doesn't feel like it's working, though. Ingesting a solid object is very, very bad for any engine... that's what the air filter is there for.
