Space comparison - BMW 1 series vs hatchback(Golf etc)
Been looking for an accident damaged E60 properly priced, but struggling a bit, so i'm now considering a 1 series diesel....missus prefers the general size of it better than the 5 series anyway, but how does the interior compare with stuff like the Golf?
I've certainly been in a 1 series in a dealership, but for general stuff with a family how do they compare?

I had a 130i. Great car.
Never really used the back *that* much. It will take adults, a lot of car mags say its tight but I guess it depends how leggy the driver is.
Good size boot.
I dont think there will be a lot in it myself, golf might have a couple more inches leg room in the back but if you have kids I doubt they will notice - only adults really.

Dave,
1 series diesel is streets ahead of any comparable golf in every respect apart from being slightly smaller inside.
Its 100% the drivers choice. Engines are simply brilliant.

It was a 120D in Sport trim - 5dr (only one available at the time)
Only me and he wife, and she had her "van" for the dogs, so space wasn't an issue.
Boot narrow but quite deep. Back seats as above. Its deceptive because of the small doors and shallow glass and looks smaller inside than it is.
