Ford have seen the people coming in for cars due to the scappage scheme, and are fleecing them to subsidise Europe and bolster the USA market. AGAIN

Rip-off Britain again.

And governemnt's comment is? A deafening silence, as usual.

Short answer: don't buy a new Ford

There can only be a rip off if someone is mug enough to buy. Do you think HM Gov should hold their hand in the dealer?

Or perhaps you think there should be price controls, tantamount to nationalisation?

I worked at a Ford dealers for 5 years as a valeter when i was 17, they recently spent 1.2 million on refurbing the entire building, the showroom looked stunning, it had a real air of class about the place, i bumped into an old work collegue on tuesday and he said that the new company the took over (Arnold Clarke) have nigh on sacked off the new fords all together, and are concentrating on just selling second hand cars

To be honest, you drive past now and the place looks tacky as hell, crap balloons, crap flags, crap stickers all over the showroom windows etc etc,

The "Euro" is the new "Green Tax". In that before, prices were raised (Not car specific) to combat Global warming. Now prices are rising because of the week Pound/Euro exchange rate.

Wonder if Ford will lower the showroom prices when the exchange rate reverses?

Shame people in Britain don't show their displeasure by action. We moan, groan, and complain (In a polite manner) yet what we should be doing is taking positive action by not buying any new Ford. Ford would have to lower prices pretty damn quick then.

The Transit may be the Backbone of Britain, but the majority of the population of Britain don't seem to have one.

Wonder what the price of the Focus RS will be now? Getting more & more expensive.

Shock horror, a business is increasing it's prices. :O

It's a business at the end of the day, they are there to make money and they can set whatever prices they want - it's then up to the consumer whether they go and buy the products at that price - if nobody does then "the business" will have to lower it's prices.

It's pretty much how most businesses work isn't it, nothing to do with terrible cliches like "rip off Britain"

And, what's it got to do with the government? I wouldn't want them sticking their nose into my business, just as I'm sure Ford or any other car maker would.

But isn't it the Government that these companies come to 'cap in hand' thus us tax payers that get them out of trouble, time & time again!

I think the Government should stick their nose in.

That's the fault of the gov't and the muppets that voted for them, not the business that they try to control.

Any business has a right to charge what they like, providing it's not something required by law.

Do you have examples of how Ford has been helped out by taxpayers, time and time again?

As a business man, if the Government of any country is prepared to invest in my business to create jobs then that is all about them, not me. Does it make me wrong to take advantage of it. Does it make me expect that the Government can then control my prices and marketplace - other than through sales tax then absolutely not. And the sale tax probably more than compensates for the Government investment.

I'm not sure what that means? The topic is about Ford, who hasn't been "bust".
