HELP,54 Plate Renault Scenic 1.5 DCI
My dad has a 54 plate Scenic 1.5 DCI.
Over the past few weeks it has been taking a little longer to start.
Today it would not start at all so I changed the glow plugs and crank sensor but still no luck.
The car was towed back home and started whilst towing but was pretty smokey.
The car ran fine but when turned off for any length of time it will not fire up.
Can anyone offer any suggestions??
I think that it is a fuel pump problem.
Could the fuel be draining back to the tank?
These have to be one of the most unreliable and expensive cars to repair.
It has had a new engine @ 22000 miles , £600 @Renault to replace heater motor, New key card , 4 new window mechanisms and more

We have a 1.6 variant - slightly more reliable. But that doesn't help you. I agree with your hunch that there is a fuel issue. Perhaps a fuel filter would be a good start - RENAULT Scenic II 1.5 DCi Fuel Filter for
