Evo v Scooby
#3
If you're asking those sorts of questions, unless you own an Evo you'll always want one. You'll pay more to buy, a little more to insure and fuel, and quite a bit more to service. But you'll be level on cost overall when you come to sell. The Evo's steering is like a go kart, but so is the ride.

Ive had an Evo 5 & a 7 i was unlucky with both i think, as the 5's head gasket went & the 7's gearbox failed. Three years with my 02 Sti & no probs Where i live in the southeast there are plenty of scoob's and not to many Evo's. Could this be just down to price? If you look on mlr forum it seems all the Evo's for sale are generaly lower mile's. Some are having engine builds at low mileage. Is it a myth that the Evo is a better car? As far as the steering feeling quicker a spec c rack on the scoob works wonders. The Evo 8/9 Mr looks fantastic. The Hawkeye Sti looks fantastic. Mmmm need more info

i dunno, i have version 4 uk turbo, my mate has 280 bhp evo 3 and he used to have 260bhp wrx, the evo is lightning quick to 110mph then his old scooby would have passed it after that, bothe of them have uprated suspension but in my own opinion i think the subaru handles better, but the evo accelerates and stops quicker, but with the evo, you need to change the oil every 4k miles along with the diff oil, every 3k miles you have to grease the suspension
a load of hastle, flat 4's the way forward!
