Nonsense: that Porker's just a manufactured noise. The F50 is the closest thing you'll hear to a road-going F1 car, which is esentially what it was (bored-out 1992 ex-F1 engine). I'd never heard one on full chat until today: it could wake the dead!

The CLK black series is my current favorite. The group B Audi quattro is music to my ear's and every other 5 pot I have heard is almost as good!

But I'm not keen on the F1 car sound - just a load of screeching to my ears.
AMG V8 Mercs do sound very nice indeed.

Wasn't mad keen on the inlaws 355 sound - again to screechy and always sounded broken (like some 911s).

I personally think this takes some beating, becuase it,s not your usual MUSCLE car that most people would post on a thread like this.....

Not sure if that Escort is the best-sounding: most 4 cylinders of that era sound(ed) like that in a high-state of rally tune. Noisy yes, but not special like a later V6 Metro 6R4.

An old family friend of ours used to have a competition-spec 450 bhp modified 1973 Ferrari Daytona. It was a wonderful brute of a car with flared arches and massively wide tyres and, best of all, side exiting exhaust pipes on each side! Needless to say it sounded like the coming of armageddon when he fired it up! Went well too.

Turbo - that bloke must have been rather wealthy.

Remember seeing a Daytona Spyder (1 of 6 RHD - I have seen 3 of the 6) for £1.6m in the mid 80s!

Gotta be V8 or 12. Big Lambo, or Fezza.
Even that new Alfa coupe thing.

Monaro, Dodge Charger maybe?
