Default Complicated Van insurance

It's complicated so bare with me. My wife (who can't drive), mother in law and father in law all have there own businesses. Tomorrow we are going to buy a fiat scudo for £1200. I have a scooby, the mother in law has a astra and father in law a big van. Regarding insurance what do we do as we all have our own policies on the above vehicles and I understand we can drive the van third party on our own policies. The only problem is nobody will directly be insured on the Scudo which I believe is against the law.

Also what happens with NCD as i was told by a friend you can't have no claims discount on this Scudo as we claim the NCD on our other vehicles. Any help would be appreciated.

You will have to get some form of direct insurance for the Scudo - for taxation purposes alone if nothing else.

If you have NCD elsewhere you can either get an introductory NCD discount OR if you have a decent broker or insurer can you can NCD matching schemes.

When I bought my first 911 I got 7 years NCD immediately as my broker got a match for the NCD on the Scoob.

Why have the van only covered third party for most of you? just get it insured through one of the companies for you all.

Temporary measure would be to fling it through Short Term Car insurance, Van Insurance, from dayinsure.com or the like so that you can still collect it.

When I bought my van I used Gladiator van insurance and they mirrored my ncb from my car policy onto the new van policy.

The Scudo is only worth £1200.

Insure it with the lowest risk driver, then just add named driver/s onto policy.

Some Insurance companies will give full NCD on second vehicle. If you claim on the Scudo, it won't effect your NCD (protected) on your main vehicle.
