LOL

I couldn't get on there for days for some reason. I was joking about the ban

Hi Jay  Love the RA.

Fabioso, I have an Exige S but looking for something to add to the collection! Spec C or Evo 9 maybe I had a GTR on order but cancelled due to Nissan's strange warranty stance!

Rich I still haven't popped round in it - rubbish Hope your new family car is going well!

Nice motor the Exige! Collection ? Must be doing well in these dodgy times

Yeah it wouldnt be good if you can't be confident in a warranty!!

That would be a hard decision each day......mmm which do I take to work the Exige or the Evo

Fab, I have to work abroad in dodgy places but has some benefits!

Phil, here you go...

Exige at Spa

(250 earth horse powers!)

And the last Evo 8 (mapped by Bob to 386 bhp )

Exige looks nice DBM. I'd be interested in reading your thoughts on it, especially the character of the engine, the performance, the noise and the real world usability of the car.

Oh, and one other q. - how did you get the power up to 250bhp, and did it need it, has it changed it much?

Hi Fab, the DC5 is a great car, and I think the Ivtec is actaully better than the S2000 F20C in some ways. The torque is superb for a VTEC, it really is a flexible engine. The weight of the car helps too though. The F20C does have that 9000 rpm to it's bow though! The only complaint about the DC5 is that the FWD doesn't seem as good as the DC2. I took the DC5 to the Ring and I couldnt quite get along with it. Great car overall though, and very practical.

Diesel, the Exige is simply the best car i've owned. It's just ridiculous on the road. I can't quite describe the driving experience! The grip is immense, and you really struggle to find it's limit on a public road. I think mine will hit 100 in 9.5 - 10 seconds to give you an idea of the pace.

The engine noise ins't too exciting, but the supercharger sounds nice and downs out the engine. It's very responsive and the car is actually really well built. I was the type of person who said they would never own a Lotus until I sat inside an S2. It really is well screwed together and combined with Jap engine and drivetrain its a winner. In terms of practicality, the probax seats are more comfy than any car i've owend (oddly!) so you can go for hours. The problems are that the noise hurts your ears on motorways after a while, and the visibility is poor (no rear view due to the intercooler) Pulling out from slip roads and reversing is a nightmare. But you have to put all that to one side!

The extra power comes from a remapped ECU and injectors. The standard S has the electronic throttle limited to about 70% opening. The new ECU allows 100% and fuelling to suit. It's a very noticable increase on such a light car.

Here it is at Combe

Mark, Jacey from Dorset Scoobys also had a GTR on order but like you canceled last week due to the service costs etc, he managed to get his deposit back so went out and bought a Porker 997 kept it for 3 days and sold it again..........said it lacked the power his STI Hawkeye had.
I think he's now toying with buying the new STI.

The Lotus must be some car if you have kept it this long..

Almost a record! Had it a year now. Had an S2000 for 18 months, which is my record!

Yep I had been speaking with Jacey via PM. Didn't know he sold the 911 though?! Did he definately buy it, or just borrow it?? Hope he didnt lose any money! I could see how it's not as quick as the scoob though, and the GTR is in a different leauge again. I still want one but not prepared to put up with those conditions

Mark, Crofty, afternoon chaps....

Thought as you were talking about the old girl it would be rude not to say hello
Hard to believe that it's over 10 years since I took delivery of that DBM scoob at Bell and Colvill!

Me too Andy! (Crofty) Agree on the M3 too. Would be nice to find a nice low miler.

Hi Andy (H) it's like a reunion thread now The old scoob was still like new when I let it go, and I know the guy who bought it was a decent chap who looked after it
