The english axle is the standard ford axle from the capri, mkI and mkII escort, cortina etc etc. Called that to distinguish it from the atlas axles used on 3 litre capri and widely used to replace the english axle on escorts when you go rallying because it's stronger.

Loads of bit for the english axle on the ford tuning sites, rally design, burton performance products, west wales rally spares, peter lloyd rallying, prepfab, gartrac.

English axle is good for about 200 bhp in an escort, will be OK for a bit more in a lightcar like a starlet. Stick 300 bhp through it on slicks on tarmac and it'll break, then you need an atlas.

I think the Atlas axle is wider than the English. Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts, Mk1 and Mk2 Cortina's, etc use the English axle and Capri's use the Atlas axle.

Ignore the ********* SN has plenty of them...

I think you are searching the wrong forum, try here Turbosport Entrance im sure there is a few starlet projects going aswell, and yes the english axle is found on old fords, its not that strong, if you want a near unbreakable axle get a atlas, i ran 370bhp in my mk1 escort running a atlas got loads of abuse never had any problems

He originally posted in NSR hence why I asked if he was lost.

As everybody knows NSR is now a watch forum.

T5OLF, wind your neck in..
