Default Hummer H1

hi, my mate has owned a h1 for about 3 years there is only 3 h1 pickup's in the uk he got it bright yellow he then had a custom black with yellow piping interior and only a month ago he decided he wanted it spraying if any body asks you to paint a hummer, definatly a no no!!!

Its turned out ok, but it putting it all back together

Heres a few pics of how she is now

The DoD dont sell them off any more so its going to be worth quite a bit in a few years.

Well me and the boss painted bits, when he couldn't be bothered i did it.

He paid 52k for it and he said if he could get 20k he would be happy.

I don't suppose it was a bad job not rotten or ote but he also asked us to change every nut and bolt to stainless and these have a hell of a lot of nuts and bolts, we have had to tap them all out because there american thread.

before we started he wanted us to drill every rivet out, spray the panels then re revit with stainless, i recon we would still be drilling rivets out there got to be over a thousand rivits on this thing.

Just another car i've added to the list of NOT to do again

I agree, glad its not the smaller Hummer, as that was awful, embrassing infact. I like hte look of this in black, looks macho, must be a pain to drive thru town though, as its as wide as a house.

Not sure if its my age, 36, but where as I so wanted one of these, now I just see them as too much hassle, too much attention and problems.

Still, lovely looking truck.

Agreed the H1 carries the kudos of being a proper military vehicle where the H2 is just a complete joke !!!
