Glass's Guide Price
Guys i need your help quickly if possible, i need an up to date Glass's guide price. Parkers isnt good as its not what the trade use hence why i'm after the Glass's price for the following 2 cars.
The wife is hassling me for a Golf 2.0 GT TDi (5 Door) and has seen 2 cars.
1st:04 Plate 58k Miles, Currently £7.9k Non Franchised Dealer
2nd:05 Plate 57k Miles, Currently £7.6k Main Dealer
Obviously the non franchised place is having a small giggle with his price but i need to know where they both should be in todays market.
Cheers

I agree about the £1500 to £2000 price hits but dealers are not passing it on to the buyer.
They need to be getting more realistic with their pricing, i have told my wife to wait closer to Christmas when things really start to bite for the car dealers.

its not the dealers that need to be more realistic, they have cars which owe them x or y which have been around for a while, still owing 'old' money which they will have to take a hit on, but their more recent stuff is where the market now is, maybe 2 - 3k less than 6 months ago, and while their cars are starting to come down, joe public still wants the money from 6 months ago for their car.
a lot of them went into a dealer 6 months ago, got a price on their p/x and now is fallen by 3k but want near the same money now, even though the cars they are buying have also fallen by 3k so the 'cost to change' stays about the same, but the buyer wants the best of both worlds, high p/x price and low cost of new car.
this is the main reason why the car market has slowed down, still about the same enquiries year on year, just people feel they are being ripped off on p/x s but can not see how the prices of the cars they are buying are down too.
