I'm in the process of converting my R5 GTt into RWD and have a standard R5 gearbox lying around. The code JB5001 9818971 020. I was wondering if anyone would know of any other engines that would mate up to this 'box? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

RWD Volvo of the 340/360 era? I know drifters put the 16v renault engines into them, that any help to you?

Or just make it mid engined and transer the whole subframe into where the back seat was

 

If I could get me hands on one of them Volvo turbo engines that would be gift. I definitely want a turbo engine again. I've read about lads chopping the subframe out and popping it in the back but I gave away my turbo engine to a mate who needed it more than me I know mid mount would be a lot of work but it should handle better in the long run I suppose.
