Default porsche boxster question

i have just seen a tasty porsche boxster on a 51 plate. 2.7 litre. they are looking for £14,999. any thoughts on either price,( 41,000 miles), or on a boxster of this vintage?? any comments would be appreciated. have got stuff from used car expert web site which is really helpful but first hand experience would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure the gearbox works.... a colleague bought one, but chopped it straight back to the dealers for an RX-8. Hugely disappointed with the baulky gear selectors...

I'd also drive the S (3.2) - be careful with service history and general condition but Boxa will have told you all that

Get a 3.2 if you can, one of the best sportscars you can buy for that sort of money.

Ive had both 2.7 and 3.2 ...... There isnt that much between them. Although the 3.2 pulls a little better,as you would expect.

I've owned a 3.2 and the fuel consumption isn't too great. I only averaged between 20 to 23 mpg combined with mixed driving. The 987 2.7 performance has been greatly improved so I'd probably choose that over the 3.2 if funds allowed as not much difference between them really.
