Default Honda Civic Vti

Just sold my mx5 as i've moved house and don't have anywhere to park a car off the road and have got rid of my company van so needed something I could fit my bike in the back of. Plus it needed to be cheaper than the mx5...

Ended up with a 1998 civic 1.6vti 3door.

Used to own a crx with the same engine in some years ago and really liked that.

Just wanted some advice on what mods would be the best bet as it doesn't seem to be running as quick as I remember.

At present it has a stainless exhaust, sounds ok but a little too loud especially on vtec. Not like i remember anyhow....
Induction kit (cone filter type)

17" wheels, tyres a bit poo and it seems a little 'crashy' on uneven roads. Would 15"s be a better bet with some good tyres. It has been lowered, not had chance to see how but am assuming that it has been done on just springs.

Used to go on hondarevolutions but that seems to have vanished??

Any advice on best things to do, servicing and mod wise. Needs to be cost effective so no tannabe or spoon stuff but nothing chavvy...

cheers guys
