Default am i doing the right thing

im swapping my 03 plate sti with 80000 mile on for a
2004 plate civic type r with 33000 miles . its a straight swap .
is this a value for value swap your opinions please

this is what i thought mine roughly £9k

civic roughly £9.4 -£10 k

I think you'd struggle to get 9k for your STi tbh, but i agree about the value of the CTR.

i recently put it on ebay reserve of £9k

bidding ended at £8700 ,but got offered the type r

Im happier now i know im not going to be losing out although ill be sad to see her go .

obviously not as quick as the sti , not as good on the twisties , but not a bad drive . plus ive saced a small fortune over the last couple of days in fuel

Had an 05 plate CTR end of last year and loved every minute of it. OK, not as quick as the 06 STi I have now but speed isn't everything. The CTR is a different kind of fun and VTEC is very very addictive.

Hope you enjoy it !!! Sounds to me like you have done the right thing.

CTR's are great cars and pretty quick in their own right. Not as fast as an Sti but then few common cars are.

Enjoy it mate, you've made a wise choice

Bye the way I owned 2 of these from new... a 52 plate and then a facelifted 04 plate... loved them

One other point though, since it's snowing, they are totally crap in anything more than 1mm of snow I once got stuck on a flat drive... no kidding Still great cars though

Another former CTR owner here, fantastic cars for the money, a really good choice but as mentioned not in the same league as an STi but in the hot hatch market its up there with the best - EP3 not FN2 that is.
