Default Vectra 2.0Turbo

A mate is looking to buy a Vectra 2.0 turbo (54plate), low mileage, extras - what are they like (claimed 0-60 8.5, 174bhp)?

he's seem 1 for sale but it's over 100 miles away so can't get there till the weekend and the dealer says he'll hold it with a deposit subject to test drive but the mate wants to know if it's a decent car to buy (he's never driven 1) or whether to go for the 2.2 petrol (doesn't want diesel)

any comments?

He doesn't want a 2.0l Turbo on a 55 plate does he? We've got one with 28k on it that's for sale as from next week. (We've got a new contracts manager starting that has his own transport) Its a SRI in Silver.

Not sure what the exact figures are for it, but when I drove it, it seemed pretty nippy for sure.

Its based in Essex BTW. I've not decided on what to put it up for yet. But will be happy to price it for a quickish sale if he is interested.

A mate has the Signum 2.0 turbo and he loves it. Plenty of power and decent economy, so he claims

No Astra G turbo uses the Z20LET

the 170(ish) bhp version is the Z20LEL

sorry can't comment on differences between them.

Reading posts on other Vaux forums the Z20LET turbo generally appears to have a lifespan of about 70K miles. The turbo from the 240bhp VXR (Z20LEH) is a common replacement/upgrade.
