Default Bentley Monaco Elite

My new business partner has just treated himself to this.

Motorworld Gallery - Monaco Elite Bentley Continental GT 002

Very very nice indeed. The paint has to be seen to be believed.

He had it a week when some old dear pranged his drivers wing mirror, are you ready for this............£2,200.00 + Vat for a replacement.

Bently sell the mirror here in the UK but it then has to go to Monaco for it to be painted as they wont release the paint to anybody, hence the price, then back to the UK for his dealer to then fit it. The car is also fully warrantied by Bentley.

When new it was a snip at £190k...........OMG.

Is it my imagination or does it look like the car is painted with blackboard paint in those pictures?

Don't get me wrong, the GTC is a stunning car with an interior to match, but not in that colour

The car is painted in Matt Black its like Coal dust.

The attention to detail though on the interior is something else, together with the bespoke luggage that it came with.

They have only made 1 and thats all they will ever make so that counts for something, they (Monaco Elite) have just completed a Range Rover and the pictures on their web site show the paint much better than the Bentley.

The engine is also 6.8 litres i believe as opposed to 6.0 in the standard car.

Sorry but that colour/finish just does nothing for the car at all for me, not surprised they only made one, can't really imagine the orders would be flooding in?

The wing mirror isn't unusually priced for that price bracket of car, but they probably double the price to sand all the lacquer off a gloss black one

One mans meat etc etc,

Seems they forgot to put the clear coat on Your partner might have few bob, but I think he might have a screw loose too, not that it matters.

And that old 6.75 V8- it just never dies. Justs gets stonger, cleaner and more powerful ...its up to 770lbft now

Th GT, and Flying Spur just leaves a cold feeling, and the chrome plated plastic on the dials and bezels doesn't help remove the "VAGness" that it seems to have. They are common too. So the residules are taking a battering for what are relatively new cars. But I suppose that is where the Monaco elite makes sense - as it does re-address the commonness and some of the nastyness of the original interior (although they still left the Phaeton satnav/ac controls and steering column switch gear ).

I know where you are coming from with the standard GT but in this guise it is a much better car, the suspension is changed the exhaust note is fantastic and it does feel more old school as opposed a tarted up VW.

Dont get me wrong i would personally never pay that kind of cash for a Bentley GT but he likes the fact its a one off.

It was advertised with them but he bought it from the original owner direct.

The Bentley in those pics does not look nice, or at least the pics don't make it look good. Having a look to see that Range Rover for a better idea, but I still have my reservations.

Especially if it gets out that a wing mirror is £2k That is just asking every chav in the land to kick it off knowing they are going to make you bankrupt within the year. Just imagine the bill if it gets keyed, not to mention the down time while it goes all the way back over there to be fixed.

Very nice, joined a new employer, the boss drives one of those Bentley coupes. Build quality is amazing (attention to detail) and I think they look stunning, sort of old school muscle machines and newage tech.

I know the car- it was in Southport for a while a year or two ago.

One thing I found surprising is that the exterior paint is black- but when you open the doors its glossy- like it was painted with the doors shut.

I also found the combination of brown leather with black exterior... interesting.

Very different, but not my cup of tea.

Yes mate you are correct the car was in Southport for a bit. Rio Ferdinand owned it first then lent it to another footballer over that way to try and sell it to him, he didnt want it in the end that is when it was bought by my partner.

It had to have over £6k spent on it after he got it due to neglect by the previous owners.
The car was made in time for the 06 Monaco Grand Prix and was unvielled the same weekend (You Tube). The paint is also gloss on the inner panels, strange i know but the amount of questions you get asked about the car is unbelievable mainly to do with the paint and why is it Matt Black.

The bonus i suppose is there is no requirement to polish out swirl marks and apply expensive waxes.

Its tip top now though and it is growing on me, i'm going to borrow it for the weekend and see what its really like, the wife will love the Champagne cooler in the boot.

The 4.4 was the green label BMW engined car rather than the true blue 6.75
