Focus ST to Civic Type R
Has anyone made the jump from an ST to a Type R. Im getting a bit bored with my ST and fancy a change.
I went out in a standard Civic the other night and the interior is very nice and I love the dash.
Any advice or info greatly appreciated...
Cheers
Tony

Get a test drive as the vtec engine has naff all torques low down, and if you are used to a nice turbo they can be a 'mare to drive fast on the road.

There's a thread on the focus owner's forum you might find useful here, Ford Dealers Had Enough - Focus ST Owners Club

i had a 54 plate ctr before this scoob and i must say it was the best car i have had up to the scoob. but if i had to get rid i would be defo in another ctr without question. just look at all the reviews on them. thay was voted the best hot hatch 2 years running. but i have never been in the new st so i cant comment. go drive it, another thing i found with the ctr was that running it was very good and found my wallet was fatter than it is now i have another scoob

As the above above post says - go for the EP3 CTR!!
I also had one on an 03 plate before getting the Scooby and it too was the best car I've driven since getting what I have now.
Fast, great handling, great fun, great value for money and they are bullet proof!
As shown by many reviews and the top gear comparison the new FN2 CTR is a complete bag of crap, same engine as the EP3 with the same power but in a much heavier car, it also looks turd IMO.
Pick up a mint EP3 CTR Premier Edition, stick a Gruppe M induction and Buddy Club exhaust on it and you are laughing, if you have the spare funds whack a JRSC on it and then you really will be flying!!

I have an 04 Reg CTR and i love it to bits, one of my friends just sold his scoob for a CTR and he prefers it! But its your choice as with everything, take a test drive and see how it feels

A mate of mine went the other way, from a CTR (on a 53 plate which he had from new) to a new Focus ST. He much preferred the ST to the CTR.
After trying both of them I would also have chosen the ST over the CTR.
