I have a IX GSR, difference is 360 comes with an ecutek from factory and Satnav, for which you pay a silly premium but it is the "ultimate" in the EVO ix line up.

My IX is currently approx 310bhp and will be 400 by the end of the month. Great cars to live with, really responsive to driver inputs and really gives you confidence in the machine due to its solid build. Interior isnt the best some rather cheap lookin plastic, but thats not why i bought the car so it doesn't concern me.

Petrol wise they are pretty much the same as Scoobs, 250miles to a tank with light/moderate foot, 200k for a brisk driver and 160 at full chat. Service wise keeping to schedule your looking at 2 services for the year at a cost of approx £200 - 240 each if you use an independent garage.

I see your in Herts i'm in Angel London if you wanna see an IX in the flesh drop us a pm and we can see what we can arrange

Note to Danny.
You might get a better response on a Mitsubishi website and not it's arch rival Subaru website

The OP did also state 'any other options for 27k'.

Audi S3 perhaps?

A far more subtle car which doesn't scream ''look at me, look at me''

Better badge
Better looks
Better interior
Better build quality
Better residuals
Better running costs

Come out the factory with 265bhp (275bhp in reality)

And will remap to around 330bhp

0-100mph in 13.5 secs in standard trim
Probably around 11.5 secs with remap

Just a suggestion

Best of the bunch IMO.

Unless of course you have a Norris Built 6 GSR.

The FQ is not the pick of the UK IX's that accolade goes to the MR FQ 360.

I have driven a few recently and they are awesome bits of kit. For a car you "could" drive every day they are perfect if looking for something not Subaru.

In fact they are that good I may just be picking one up very soon.

yeah buy a fq320 then mod it to 360 and still have some money left . fq360s is just a 340 with a piggyback ecu so to mod it you have to take that off afiik. or just buy the daddy a ix gt

Driven all varieties of the IX and some 8's (Yuk) and the GT and RS took my fancy, went for the GT in the end but you must get a few essential mods and you will easily see 400/400.

FQ360 does not have a piggyback ECU.

It also has a high flow fuel pump and cat that the 340 doesn't.

The GT has a shorter top gear so runs at higher revs on cruise and a shorter range on a tank. The five speed has a sweeter shift and a stronger rear diff though.

320 goes to near 400 BHP with a remap (£60 for a cable if you have a laptop and can tune), decat (£50) and airbox mod (free).

Great cars & superfast! I originally had my heart set on a EVO IX fq360 last month or a IX GT (import), both very similar power. Test drove them but instead went for a Scooby Hawkeye Spec C. Dont get me wrong theres nothing wrong with the Evo, in many ways its a better car than the Scooby, but not what I was looking for:

-I couldnt justify paying £6k to £7k more than a similar aged Spec C
-Interior quality of materials was not that good
-Turning circle was horrendous & no scooby rumble!
-You had to be always in the right gear, on boost or there was no power, constantly had to stick it in 2nd gear in townb to get it going
-No Ncap saftey results, but US crash saftey tests show the Hawkeye Scooby to be 4 star rated & the Evo 2 to 3 star with poor results for A pillar & floorpan rigidity. All the body trauma figures were a lot higher in a crash for a Mitsu than the Scooby & in the end this along with the price diff made me go for the Scooby.
