Default Deposit Taken ... so it looks like bye bye to my 360!!!

Mixed feelings, as whenever I look at my red 360 Modena it makes my heart race. But, I did buy it as a summer toy and have done some 2000 miles in her (all totally reliable by the way) with an engine note to die for!
With winter setting in (snowing here in Aberdeen tonight) it is time for her to be moved on. A chap from Glasgow is buying her and like me , it will be his first Ferrari. So will just stick with my B7 RS4 which DMS are about to re-map.
I really do not think I will re-enter the junior supercar arena again, much as I enjoyed the 360.
Am going to spend some of the money on being a passenger in a MIG 29 fighter jet outside Moscow and will probably drive another F1 car -but this time at Spa (so I can experience Eau Rouge ).

2000 miles without it breaking down, even Rovers can be expected to do that !

Did you get any negative reactions to it ?

Considered getting a 355 as a 360 was out of my budget and ended up going for a 996 Turbo. It's great, maybe one could tempt you back to 'junior' supercar ownership, although it only just qualifies being so practical and a little bit ordinary.
The F1 round Spa sounds like a fantastic idea, who will you do this with?

Sorry to hear that Dave. Seen you driving about a few times, never did wave as you probably be wondering who that plnoker was!

Don't get an Aston though, counted four DB9's and DB7 in one day nipping to Sainsbury's. Far too comman round our parts.

I have had 5 911's culminating in a Twin Turbo. Still think they are the best car but none on the road and will probably go to a 997TT after I get fed up of the RS4 - but intend to keep it for a further couple of years as it is also a great car.
I will do the F1 with Wildside Adrenaline Sports who I dealt with for my last drive in France.

I'm already looking at my next car. My aim is to be in a Porsche next (loving the Audi, but I want a drivers car next), with a view to ending up in a 355 by the time I'm 40 (coming up to 34 now)

Loved looking at your 360 Dave - lovely looking car. No wonder you'll have mixed feelings when it goes

Sounds like some nice alternatives for adrenalin

Out of interest, what did you think to the 360 when pushing on? Always felt a bit skittish to me when pressing on, but wondered if the geometry was ever right on mine.

It was never a huge issue, but occasionally had a nagging doubt on all but the smoothest of surfaces that it could bite back. Apart from that, a very nice car to have owned

New Nissan GTR looks like the way forward in terms of practical supercars. Have just plonked a deposit down on one for when they are released in march in japan, there goes the money I was setting aside to do a monster build on the scoob with.

I would agree with your assessment. Great in dry , warm conditions but would rather be on the track with it in the wet (or even better in my RS4)

Must admit I do think a bit about the new GTR (I had an R34 VSpec Skyline and loved it). Where have you put a deposit down? How much is required?
Will they be serviced at "normal" Nissan dealers as my R34 was serviced by Rod Bell (some 300 miles from Aberdeen)

2 owners on & my old one is the track car at Knockhill now, so good chance to drive one on track in a monsoon.....

Dread to think what it would have been like without tc, tiniest bit of damp road and it seemed to cut in, apparently the 430 is a totally different set up but still doesn't like the wet particularly.

4wd is the only way to go

Sod the Fulcrum, go for the MiG 25 Foxbat. Same price tag but so much faster and they'll take you to the edge of space for the same price. See the curvature of the earth, the lot

Already saw the curvature of the earth on a "chartered Concorde flight" back in 1985. Taken up to the cockpit 2 at a time to witness it. One of best sights I have ever seen!!!
Main reason I want to go on the Fucrum is for the "Cobra Manouevre".

Difference being the cars being discussed here haven't been shipped in specially for the conversation & don't have 24" chrome spinners...

Ow! That wasn't what I meant, at least not with the OP - he's a (rare) regular on here who is quite matter-of-fact about his petrolhead progress, and has also explained his successful business connection with the oil industry - fair play.

Fact - there are some people out there with a lot more money than others. It's the path they chose in life. Cuba this ain't

Wasn't meant as a dig at you Brendan, was aimed firmly at MTV Cribs!

Number of times they show some young bands 'holiday rental home' with 'their' cars which are clearly supplied by the local garage.....funniest I've ever seen was a tour of peter andre's hotel room, how desperate to make a programme is that

Yes,
I have that site already in my favourites and as I have not been to South Africa it is an excellent option.
However. I feel if I am going to do this just once, I should do the ultimate available which has to be the MIG over the Lockheed Lightning.
But am STILL waiting for the Russian company to formally reply (so may end up in Cape Town yet!!!)

Locheed Lightning my backside the Lightning was made by English Electric very much a British company !! It apparently rumoured to have intercepted a previously thought un-interceptable American U2 spy plain at over 850000 feet!! Also the only plain to ever catch concorde at over mach 2 and overtake her!! The MIG look's awesome though
