RS500 for £45,000
Ford : moonstone blue RS500
Nice car. Shame about the price.
The guy is in Cuckoo land if he thinks he'll get £45,000 for it. Plate or no Plate.
I think his illness is insanity
Say a mint ex-concours RS500 last year (in Black) up for £19k. So based on that, this guy thinks someone with a RS500 would value the plate at approx £26k. Yeah right.

You can't fault the guy really for chancing his arm at that price. It's certainly a very difficult car to price. After all they may be the one person out there that'd willingly pay 50k.

Not a bad idea. I'd like to charge the timewasting robbers that call me up when I have a car for sale offering pages of buyers wanting my car on their nonexistant database. And I always put no canvassers or telesales on the advert.

I am going to go round, mess him around and give him a tenner as that what he seems to want.
I never go anywhere near cars advertised with 'No Timewasters', I do have the option to view without buying when looking at a car and prefer not be labelled a timewaster.
The only time I responded to one like that, funnily enough it was an XR4i, I drove a long way and was a timewaster as the car was a bin, the seats looked like the manky fleabag selling it conducted his sex life in it, he was selling cos he had been banned and it had stickers with little pictures of cats crossed out like a WW2 pilot.

Walkers lancia recently sold a Lancia EVO 2 with 4000 KMS for £40K to a collector.
They have a Final Edition at £36K. Granted 45K is alot but it wouldn't surprise me to see it go for close to that.

Come on folks, this aint just some old sierra we are talking about, it's a true classic with BIG *****! As for not being quick for todays standards, you've obviously never driven one!! Massive tunning potential, they already have the T4 turbo, and 8 injectors ready to be plumbed in! these things are good for 500bhp when sorted correctly, and will last forever if looked after well! Price tag is a bit much though, but I wouldn't say that far off for a minter like this!!

Plus being a ford, I suspect the carpet will be damp

I'd love a mint Sierra/Escort Cossie to bring out on sunny Sundays.
Still wouldn't pay £45k for one even if I was a Millionaire.

As per my original post. I had the chance to buy a mint RS500 last year. Only I don't have a garage to stick it in, so couldn't consider buying it.

I know a guy in Ireland that has a Mk2 Escort RS1800 with 30k miles on it. It's in concours condition (you could actually eat your dinner from the underneath) and has won lots of trophies and stuff at RS events. He turned down an offer of £25k for it 3 years ago. Personally, I thought he was mad, but when you look at this I'm not so sure!
Does this car have more cred than the RS500? I think maybe it has! What would the Escort be worth today?

Are you mad? Cars need to be driven, not looked at. I feel so sorry for the poor cars that end up in the hands of collectors who don't use them. They spend their whole life looking at the underside of a dust cover, and only get to see outside when being sold to another collector.

Was utterly underwhelmed by the pictures - was expecting more but it just doesnt do it for me at all - looks tired and dated without looking like a classic (I know thats what its meant to look like). Maybe in another 5 years it will have a classic essence to it. Hilarious attempt though.
