Honda Accord Auto - Slipping 4th gear
Hi
Wondering if anyone can shed any light on my plight!
I have been knocking around in an old banger for a while, to get me to and from work. It's a Honda Accord 2.0i Auto, on a K plate.
Its a relaible b*gger most of the time, but over the laste few months it has started to slip whilst in 4th gear. It used to slip and rev before catching 4th gear and would then be okay, but has got progressively worse.
It still manages to find 4th gear first thing, when the engine is cold, but once it has warmed up it slips out. On the odd occasion, I can get 4th when it is warm, but have to apply some sort of constant pressure to the accelerator, otherwise it slips out and revs to the redline.
All other gears work fine. I have added some transmission fluid in the vein hope this would be a cheap cure. Could it need a transmission filter change to possibly resolve this or is this typical symptoms of a knackered gearbox?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Daz
