Why dont Ford do a sporty Focus Diesel ?
Been offered a permanent job with a car (contracting at the mo) and I can have a Focus, Mondeo, Astra, Vectra etc, must be a diesel, it will have to be a Ford but the top diesel Focus diesle is 130 bhp which will be a decent car but why dont they do a 170 bhp 'ST-D' like VW etc do, ok ST-D sounds like a social disease but that never bothered Subaru with the STI badge ?

Its probably on its way, all those pics of the "RS" with the TDCi badge on the back, and ford know that they need to squeeze into this area with something with a bit more poke than 140ps.

Ive just gone from a 56 reg Focus Zetec to a 57 reg Astra SRi and to be honest I much prefer the Astra which really amazed me as Ive always gone for Fords.
Neither of mine have been Diesels so I cant comment on the engines but to me the new Astras feel better screwed together ....not that there was much wrong with the focus.
BTW if you can have a Mondeo or a Vectra have you got the Lexis IS on you list as well ?, they are doing some good deals on leasing Lexus'uss at the moment and when I was looking into it I could get a Lexus IS220D cheaper than a Vectra.

They were probably waiting until they released the new Mondeo so they could use the STTDCI engine in the Focus without stealing the lime light away from the previous Mondeo ST diesel.
