BMW 1-series Coupe... what are they playing at?
http://www.bmw.co.uk/images/bmwuk/in...wallpaper2.jpg
BMW UK : Model overview
Looks like a cross between Noddy's car and a pumped-up Tigra - wtf are BMW playing at?
BMW's should be exclusive, but they'll be the most common brand on the road the way things are going!
If Audi and Mercedes were as good to drive I think a lot of people (including me) would totally discount the brand!

Eh?
Your post would hold marginal credibility if we were in 1983.
BMW want market share - not desirability, and that's what they have.
The still make high end, luxury cars but their main market is Mondeo land.

..I quite like it, and the performance versions sound like they're going to be great fun.
Oh.. sorry - this wasn't the point of this thread was it? BMW drivers, all pompus wannabes, they only buy them because of the badge.. blah blah blah.
(except for anyone who drives a 4-cylinder BMW - because they're obviously clueless, badged obsessed morons who know nothing about cars. I can't think of one good reason to buy a 4 cylinder BMW)

They already hold the majority share of all vehicle sectors at the mo.
latest figures just out show major increases in all all sectors.
They've just acquired Husqvarna as well.
The new X3 3.0D has more grunt than some of the equivalent saloons. which has some of the guys in the office revising there next car options already
Saw the one series coupe last year when it was being developed, it looked good then...

What complete and utter rubbish. That statement is in a par with your insistence that the iPhone does not have a SIM.
If your statement was true, the BMW would be the biggest vehicle manufacturer in the world as opposed to being dwarfed by the likes of Ford, GM, Chrysler, Toyota, etc, etc...

The 3 series may outsell the Ford Mundaneo but that's the only suprise.
Where do you get your "latest figures" from?

Not being particularly stuck on that version, I prefer my Mini, I will say that BMWs are recognised in general for their excellent build quality on all their models. I have had one or two of the higher performance versions in the past and have enjoyed owning and driving every one of them right back to the E12 M535i I used to have.
I know all about the "BMW Driver" tag which I believe is largely down to "green eyes" although I have also seen some pretty pompous ones as I also have in other makes of cars, mainly large 4x4's actually.
As a driver's car they are very good all round and the cars are always great fun to drive especially in the middle of the night and on a wet road!

i quite like it tbh And I've never liked BMWs - especially the 1 series
However, this 1 series coupe and the M6 () are lovely.
Still won't have one though - got my sights on an RS4 or 6

Thats a good looking motor Not enough M series about it. They should have gone a little more tough with the styling and called it the M1. After all, with that performance it's going to be a Scooby slayer for any reps out there.

Just a thought! But I know some of the sicko's that hang around here will already have thought about it Any of you guys got the EVO mag with the Alpina 335i feature. That has the same engine as the 135i. What sorts of engine Bhp and Torque did they get? Cheers Leigh.
