Just had a drive of the Civic Type R. It is new with only 50 miles on, and so i couldnt rag it much but heres my observations.
Gearbox - Amazing. I thought the Integra Type-R's was good but this is superb. Best i have ever driven with.
Handling - Only did a few miles but ride is firm and it handles well being pushed enthusiastically through roundabouts.
Performance - As I said, couldnt rag it but of what I did do, boy does it go. Pulls quite well up to 7k but then pulls hard after. Shame i changed up at 7500 !!
Interior - Looked nice, seats were firm and supportive, dials clear. Only complaints are that it has same electric window switches as in Integra Type R and MY01 Impreza and same electric mirror switches as last Civic, Accord and the Rover 45. Switchgear looked a bit fragile to me.
All in all not a bad package for the money. I still think i prefer the Clio 172, mine seems to pull harder lower down (I know mine is run in with 8.2k on it). Gearchange is better in the Civic, but it does not seem as nimble as my Clio. Mind you I only drove the Civic 7 miles !!!
Comparing it to the MY01 I had, dont be surprised if standard cars cant hang on to it !!!!

Hi there,
If you fancy a spin in a slightly more used one then watch out for my silver CTR in the car park. It's got just over 2k on it now and is pretty well broken in - I'm getting used to VTEC over turbo as well.
I may be in the office tomorrow.

Are you getting one as well then or has someone else got one?
That's not fair I've hardly been in recently and so not had much chance to show it off. Mind you it's filthy at the moment frmo slogging up the M3 to Sunbury daily!
