brother called today and said a lad where he wroks has just got a volvo v70 t5 y reg,he says it feels really quick, says hes had a few mods done not sure what.
he said it feels quicker than my classic uk turbo wagon about 275/290bhp
anybody owned one or any views on them as i never owned or been in one, suppose they cant be too shaby if the old bill uses them.

They are very quick but are also very heavy. I think your brother is winding you up though. My dad has had a T5 and I have owned a T4, very under rated cars.

0-60, no contest but the Volvo really picks up mid gears and would gain on you. They are also FWD and dont handle nearly as well as a Scoob.

I suppose a lot will depend on what mods the Volvo has but i still think he is trying to wind you up.

I must admit though if i was getting rid of my Scoob I would consider a T5. They are great cars.

It's what the traffic police use, so they must be half decent.

Y plate V70 T5 was 250bhp as standard. Wheelspin like crazy in the wet or if you boot it from a standstill. Deceptively quick once on the move. Handling is a little wayward..........

My m8 had a S70 T5, which his wife now drives, and he's got a V70 R AWD estate...both quick cars, perhaps not so much off the line, but they really pick up when moving, hence they make great motorway/fast A road cars rather than B road blasters.

He rates the T5 very highly, perhaps more so than the V70R, but the AWD on the V70 helps get the power down better, especially out of the roundabouts, whereas the front wheel drive on the T5 can tend to scrabble a bit.

And he can get 7 in the estate with the rear child seats

My uncle use to have one very quick midd range.

I also know a guy that has tuned his 850 T5 up to 550BHP so far and is looking to get 800BHP out of it
