Evo 7, WRX or STi
#1
I have had an EVO6 and old Scooby and I am currently thinking of buying one of the above. Any views as to which is the best to go for and why? Also one reason I got rid of the EVO6 was the problems they had with the Brakes warping, does the EVO7 have the same problems? Cheers.

Ive asked myself this very same question and looked in to it a little bit.
Price wise the WRX especially from Europe, I got quoted 15500 inc VAT and on the road, with all the mods, ie High Spoiler Gold Wheels, head light conversion, colour coded etc... itcame in under 18000 and looked pretty much like the STi.
For me though it was about speed and the WRX is around 5 secs slower than my MY00 from 0-100 which is a fair bit BUT with all the money saved engine tweeking could sort that I presume!!!
On the speed front ithas to be the EVO or STi, for me I would have the STi as it looks the business inside and out.
I wish I had the money.

The EVO VII has the same brake setup as the VI, the only difference is the wheel bearing. There are already some VII owners with warped discs.
Sounds strange to me to sell the car because of the warping discs. There are several ways to cure that easily.
BTW the STI VII has the same Brembo **** so this would need upgrading aswell if you want decent brakes.

Rich
thanks for the credits.
I actually wrote a lot about the brake problems and reasons on the Lancer register.
Don't you use a second "W" with your user name on MLR?
Enjoy your EVO
Cheers
