"Modern cars measure-up well against their ancestors, but there's no room for complacency where safety us concerned," said editor, Neil Fowler. "We are still finding basic safety problems with many new models and we'll continue to lobby car manufacturers for improvement."

In its latest tests, the magazine has found several cars which have seat-belt buckles that can be accidentally released by flailing arms, leaving occupants more vulnerable to injury or even being thrown from the car in a crash.
The magazine is calling on Chrysler, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru and Volvo to change the buckle design on the affected models. So far, only Volvo has agreed to investigate further.

Trees don't tend to move too much when hit by a car, possibly due to the way they are anchored into the ground.
Telegraph poles and lamposts act much in the same way,
A fact many people ignore until they loose control of their car and find out the hard way.
