Default Scientific Proof. Audi's are safer than BMW's

2003 Audi A8 proclaimed as Which's safest car
WHICH MAGAZINE rates the 2003 Audi A8 as the safest car tested since it started testing cars in 1983.

"Modern cars measure-up well against their ancestors, but there's no room for complacency where safety us concerned," said editor, Neil Fowler. "We are still finding basic safety problems with many new models and we'll continue to lobby car manufacturers for improvement."

10 Best cars for safety since 1983.
(Points in brackets)

* Audi A8 4.2 Quattro 2003 (14 pts)

* Volvo S40 2.4i 2004 (13.5)

* Lexus LS430 2003 (13.5)

* Volvo S80 1998 (13)

* Lexus GS 300SE 2005 (13)

* Jaguar XJ8 2003 (13)

* Fiat Croma Multijet 150 diesel 2005 (12.5)

* Volvo S 60 2.0T 2004 (12.5)

* Renault Avantime 3.0 V6 Sport 2002 (12.5)

* Jaguar S-Type 3.0 V6 2004 (12.5)

10 Worst cars for safety since 1983.

* Hyundai Pony 1.2L 1983 (3.5 pts)

* Fiat Panda 900 Super 1984 (3.5)

* Suzuki Alton GL 1987 (3.5)

* Daihatsu Domino 1987 (3.5)

* Yugo 55A 1987 (3.5)

* Austin Mini City 1985 (3)

* Citroen AX 11 RE 1987 (3)

* Yugo 45 1984 (3)

* Peugeot 205GL 1984 (3)

* Citroen 2CV6 1986 (3)

In its latest tests, the magazine has found several cars which have seat-belt buckles that can be accidentally released by flailing arms, leaving occupants more vulnerable to injury or even being thrown from the car in a crash.

The magazine is calling on Chrysler, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru and Volvo to change the buckle design on the affected models. So far, only Volvo has agreed to investigate further.

You cannot conclude the safety of a car that has been only out for a couple months of year. This was an indepth long term study.

You will care if a family member gets seriously injured in a car crash, which injury could have been avoided if they were travelling in an audi

You should edit the title......

"Scientific Proof: Audis were safer than BMWs"

No proof for 2007.

Also edited for p1ss-poor grammar

right, cause if you have a crash out on public roads they will find the exact same results as a crash in a controlled enviroment

Trees don't tend to move too much when hit by a car, possibly due to the way they are anchored into the ground.
Telegraph poles and lamposts act much in the same way,
A fact many people ignore until they loose control of their car and find out the hard way.
