When buying or selling which do you look at,the internet or the magazine? Just wondering as selling the wifes car on the autotrader website and was considering advertising it in the magazine as well. I mainly use the internet, but just wonderd what others used.

Always the net, never anywhere else.

Mainly use the internet site. Only time I buy the magazine these days if I happen to be on holiday and stuck for some magazine flicking material. Even then I tend to be more interested in the classics these days just to spot something interesting.

All serious purchasing research done on the web.

The magazines a waste of time , cars are on the website for sale about 7 to 10 ten days before the magazine goes to print . Hence all the decent stuff is sold before the magazine hits the shelves . Best to check the website regularly if you are after something in particular and watch the prices and new posts.

I agree, though the typical Auto Trader magazine reader is unlikely to be on Scoobynet. For a car of £4000 or less e.g. Ford Focus it may be worth doing both.

I've found the website can be just as out of date as the magazine. However, I don't know if thats down to the seller of the car or the Webmaster.

My old man put his old Audi S4 on both the Net and in the magazine. He'd sold the car before it even appeared in the Mag.

So I think most people (including myself) would use the Net, as it's going to always be up to date.

Thanks for the replys people, its a mini cooper that we are selling.Talked to a few people at work before placing the ad on the net,and everyone said that they used the internet instead of buying the magazine because it was easier than going to the shop to get the mag! Seems like its the same with you lot!
