Are they really as bad as peeps make out , im looking at the 2.2 diesel with all the toys 50k miles - okay bland inside :whatever_ but id be more worried if it DID actually breakdown every few K's ..

We had a 2001 Laguna, ex demo that had only done a few thousand miles and no word of a lie it was the wost car ive ever owned.
We had all the front suspension replaced as it badly pulled to the left all the time and they couldnt find the fault, the boot would fill with water, again the never found where the water was coming from.
There were other minor problems with the car as well and it spent most of its time at the dealers who its got to be said were really really bad which didnt help and on more than one occasion I had to raise my voice (slightly ) while standing in the dealers.
Saying that one of the guys i use to work with had one as a company car and he never had any problems with at at all.....i guess i had his share

Got a Laguna 1.9 dci (not estate) and have had no problems. Drives very nice Just does not have the power 120 BHP so had to get another scooby .I think its all about luck. Look for a renault forum and see what they say about them. Hope this helps

Good car but very unreliable, buy a Mondeo instead.

A guy I used to work for had one, a very capable off road car.

Looked good, but he had lots of trouble with it, mainly electrical.
