Default M5 Tourer

Just in case no one else realised BMW were bringing out a touring version of the M5 this year - Top Gear | Real estate

No doubt AudiLover will be along shortly to poo poo the car....

Must be getting worried that the new RS6 Saloon and Avant (most seem to be Avant) will take sales away from the M5.

If you can't beat them, join them

I never understood why they didn't offer one (touring) in the first place to be honest.

As sales of the RS4 and RS6 have shown (plus the merc equivelent) there is plenty of people who want a fast estate to combine practicality with performance.

Should be good though, wonder if there'll be an M3 Tourer too?

I had the 535d Tourer for a while & loved it. I think the M5 Tourer is a step in the right direction for BMW

Yep the AMG E63 is no doubt a better car with a interior to match its price tag unlike that of the BMW which gets shown up by 25k plus cars.

My inlaws had one of these and it was great to drive - Pretty much supercar mid range punch and it even sounded decent!

Unfortunately five months after getting it the computer started playing up so it's an X5 Sport until the 535d engine is stuck in the new X5.

To be fair, for once i actually agree with you. The E63 is a far superior car to the M5. Thought about one but decided on the RR.

Great fan of the Mercedes

The 535d in my opinion would have gave my Sti a run for its money, i didnt think there was much in it & the fact i could travel around the country with loads of gear was a bonus.

Yep - After a bit of a rough patch, Merc seem well and truly up there again.

Will have to try an AMG63 (in E,CLS,CL,CLK or S - Any will do!) at some stage!
And an AMG65 of course...

I think a 535d would laugh at an STi in the right rev range.
Also love the fact that they can be had debadged and look like a 520i.

STi obviously more nimble though.
