Are there any cars with 7 speed manual?

The first works Sapphire Cosworth rally cars had manual 7 speeders. Very close ratios, double H pattern too, not sequential.
Confusing for the drivers who drove the cars pretty much one handed whilst banging around the gear lever with the other, not really necesarry due to the generous torque spread of the motor, and replaced with more conventional 6 speeders after a season or so.

Its hasnt got much steering feel though, I think the all the electronics and gadgets hinder it.
I think that its on par with the new S class for comfort and ride, if not better and its really quiet.
The interior isnt all that, but I have to say I was impressed with the stereo. The car was really really quite but that might have been due to the smooth roads in orlando?
If I was 80 I would buy one, but because im not id take the audi S8 even though I havent driven one purely based on exterior and interior looks. Oh and engine noise even though the lexxy didnt sound too bad I suppose.
still think I pory pie?

With a review like that i find it hard to believe your not a staff writer for Evo, The way your writing encapsulated the driving experience was pure magic, i was there with you breezing down the Orlando freeway.

I think you are missing the point, the heading states "Are there any cars with 7 speed MANUAL". The AMG definately doesn't, I would doubt the Lexus has, and surely the new Audi is a DSG or Flappy paddle thingy.

at a guess id say motorbike engined kit cars that retain the sequential shift of the motorbike gearbox would probly have 7 forward speeds depending on the donor bike used, but i dont know of any genuine factory built cars using seven speed manuals... no real need is there? theyd either be such short ratios meaning contant shifting, or have one very tall 7th gear for to speed which you cant use on many roads anyway?

My mum once had a Triumph Dolomite with a four gear speedbox and overdrive.
It was so shagged you could get the overdrive to work in conjunction with any gear, so effectively it had an 8 speed 'box, does that count?

Group A Sierra Cosworth Rally cars of the 90's had 7 speed manual boxes, not even sequential, just on a conventional H (or HH!) gate. Must've been a nightmare trying to snag the right one in the middle of a stage

You may be right - however on every single document, legal or otherwise its listed as a manual. Therefore if you only had a driving license for class B Auto, you'd technically not be allowed to drive it.
anyway, although it has no clutch there's nothing to stop you shifting it into 1st at non 1st gear speeds and locking up the rear wheels, you can also select an unsuitable gear hence manual ie you have manual control over the gear you're in.

The DVLA I know for sure do not class the M5 SMG as a manual. By their own definition any car without a clutch pedal is an automatic.
You don't have a clutch pedal and you do not change gear by hand (you control an electro-mechanical system), the M5 also has an automatic mode where you do not have to command the gear change. Your car's gearbox does at its heart have a 7 speed gearbox and a clutch, but so does the 7 speed Mercedes gearbox and that ain't a manual either.
I sorry but you are on the losing side with this argument, all similar sequential transmissions are classified as automatics. They may start with manual gearbox architecture but they also have automated gear selection and clutch control.
