I owned a Mazda 6 TS2 TDi for a year.
The only problem was the irritant of the alarm going off for no reason which is a VERY common problem. Other than that I didn't have a glitch in 20k miles of use.
Found it to be very comfortable, handled pretty well and used a set of 4 tyres in 14k miles (all seemed to wear at the same rate).
We sold it as we just found it abit boring to look at and wanted something abit more exciting .............. a WRX
Alarm was a pain and had the sensors changed 3 times, but i would recommend a Mazda 6 as a reliable 'nice' car.

Wife has had a 2.0 TS2 Estate for over three years. Get a reliable well speced car that is not expensive to run.
Have found it to be comfortable on both long (350 miles) and short journeys, interior has worn well with 2 boys.
The car is now her 'work horse' carries helium tanks, balloons and all sorts of rubbish, still going well.
Downsides are the paint could be better and the annoying bleep that gets louder and faster if you do not put the drivers seat belt on even when reversing.
