A car at 2-3yrs old costing 75k & can get for 30-35k ??

Same engine as the Continental GT ??

Great value in another 2 years time. At £25-£35k they've still got some plummeting to do I think. Buy one in a year or two for £10/£15k.

Basically the Bentley underneath. Engines, gearbox, chassis, suspension etc. etc. Although more correctly, the Bentley is a VW Phateon underneath

The thing is ...... this time next year i will be after a GT, but just been looking at prices & at the moment its 90k for say a 54 & on the phaeton its 35k.

I am aware they appeal to different markets but 55k for a fcukin shell & a badge

The Phaeton is non turbocharged though, isn't it, whereas the GT is twin turbo'd? Regardless, it's a fantastic 2nd hand buy, but I'd wait another year. The V10 TDi would also be a better bet IMHO.

Some of the interior and cetral dash on the Continental is straight off a Phaeton. In comparison, the cars very very different, but you can't hide the fact that the Phaeton started off as car in it own right whilst the Bentley was adapted from a car VW already had.

Phaeton = Great car for those who don't want to show off.

Continental GT = Parts bin special with a nice badge

But don't forget, the Conty GT is also a pretty bloody good depreciator, and a car that has cost you 35k can "only" loose 35k.........but a car that cost you 85k could loose you............................

I'd definately have one, although I'd go for the V10 TDI. I think they're very smart but discreet.

I would not of thought that it is particularly good even though it's a diesel,as it's still a 5.0 V10......................although compared with the 6.0 W12

Wink

My old fella has had one now for a Year.
He bought it less than a Year old for circa £45k list was £80 something so was a good buy.
Its the limo version and it go`s like stink.
A very nice fast safe car.
Oh and the only difference between it and the Gt is a little re map work.
It has exactly the same engine etc but is ltd to 400 horse ish I think.
Needs to be de restricted to make GT power.
He cant see the point but I would have done it by now I think.
Oh its even double glazed!!!
Massage seats and air conditioned seats too

You could easily put an Audi or Merc badge on the Phaeton and no-one would know.

I think it would be easily noticeable if there was a Merc badge on it.

I personally would just de badge it. The more i talk about it, the more i want one.

You may have a point there. After all, they're both blue and have the same number of wheels.

Go for it. I'd have one if my wife wasn't getting a big estate - no point having two big cars .

It is a lot of car for the money but then if you are going to spend £35000 you'd be an idiot not to get a 5 series or 7 series BMW which are much better cars.

I have had the sheep option & yes it was good, i am back to being a petrol convert.

In the drive is a V8 Cayenne & a M3 cab.

W12 would go down a treat
