Default koenigsegg V Zonda

Me and my mate at work discuss which is the best on a weekly basis.

So which is it ?

I prefer the Zonda myself

Anymore for anymore

I'd take one of each + a Mclaren.

My daily driver is a Veyron.

it doesnt matter which is better, supercars are an irational purchase and one made with the heart.

Clarkson said the ferrari was better in every way yet his heart said Ford GT.

I think the Zonda F is the best looking car ever built. But I also love the Koenigsegg.

Having been lucky enough to have been in a Zonda and visited the factory - my vote goes to them. Although the Koenigsegg is a stunning car - a bit of a beast!

Zonda for me too. I went all goosebumpy when I visited the factory in '04 and sat in the silver press-car.

Zonda is a truly hideous looking thing, I am sure it goes well but really it is disgusting, give me a Macca F1 LM anyday:

It's true they aren't the prettiest cars in that sense. The Enzo isn't great either. The Carrera GT and Mac F1 both have some awkward angles too. What they all have though is presence - charisma I guess.

What you don't appreciate, especially with the Zonda, is the attention to detail and just how much of the car is hand made. They x-ray every bolt and component - similar to the treatment used on aircraft.

Every bolt has a specific torque setting and each bolt is signed with a pen by the engineer who installs it. Almost every component is hand made. All of the carbon fibre is done on site too. To be able to produce carbon fibre panels of that size and quality so that they don't need painting (see the black Zonda in the picture above) is quite staggering.

It does have beauty, just not in a classical sense.

Is the Zonda made in RHD.

Personally speaking i would say that the Zonda is a piece of art.

It's a great place isn't it Nick? This was in September. I was out there with my mate Andie. He publishes a magazine and I do some features writing for him (and act as the motoring editor) - which means we get to do nice things like this.

We interviewed Horacio and he took us out for a drive. He's a very good driver and he just loves to bomb around in his cars. He's a great guy - so enthusiastic about his cars. There is real love and passion in the cars. The attention to detail borders on the obsessive.

My article on Pagani will be in the Christmas issue of the mag, which is being printed at the moment

Zonda's can be RHD - we saw a pearl white one being prepared for an English buyer, while we there. I think this was the 6th or 7th to goto the UK. It's amazing, given that they only produce 17 cars a year that they can tool up to produce both LHD and RHD cars, but I guess when you're paying 400K+ for a car, you can pretty much get what you like! It was also amazing to find the number of owners who had two or more Zonda's - it seemed to be most of them!

Loving the Red `F`. Think that's the colour I'd go for. I wish.

Has anyone else noticed the drivers seat? The carbon fibre looks a little hard to sit on. Ouch !!
Plus, what's the Cap in the seat for? Is that for getting rid of waste, incase you P155 yourself laughing at the shear speed of the thing, or after you've **** yourself after getting it wrong?

I read an article by Gordon Murray a couple of years ago.
And i'm sure you'll agree Gordon is so bloody critical of design and function it is untrue.

Anyway Gordon was at a car show when Horacio spotted him and ran over all enthusiastic over his new 'Zonda'

Gordon went away mightily impressed - he said although some of the design aspects were not to his taste the overall package was good and Horacio had gone in the right direction, light weight, rear wheel drive, and a big normally aspirated engine as opposed to a lower capacity and turbo's. basically the same sort of process the F1 was.

He then said that 'Horacio' was that enthusiastic he deserves to do well and suceed'

Praise from a very critical bloke indeed.

Hmmmmmm to be honest i think i would be happy with either of them, and chances are if you could afford one of them, you could probably scrape a few pennies together and buy the other one, nice position to be in though !

SOrry, the Pagani leaves me cold. Too vulgar a looking car (ie perfect supercar material )

koenigsegg for me every time - much more dribble-able

Zonda - genuine supercar.

Koenigsegg - kind of a TVR on steroids. Certainly has the pace and the thrills, but the Zonda just seems a better place to be.

Like most on here, I of course have both, plus a Carrera, Enzo, F1, etc, all street parked outside a 1 bed council house.

Zonda for me. Just has that supercar magic about it where the Koenigsegg doesn't when compared against it, IMHO

zonda is good at nearly everything. Segger is good for going fast in a straight line, throwing you off the road at corners and breaking down every other day.

Dont see where the appeal is with that vehicle at all TBH.

From Trishul (Who sits next to me) : Koenigsegg , this is what he says

Just to inform you Zonda lovers - the Koenigsegg CCX was faster around the top gear track (beating the flagship Zonda F). And the CCX looks better too!!!
