That is monster quick!! Thats the sort of rate that a UK impreza would pull away from a Saxo VTR or any other warm-hatch and the camera car is a RUF! Jesus - it takes something special for a RUF to look slow!

This sorta reminded me of the Clarkson video where he took a Skyline up against the Mclaren F1, and it got completely owned !
Now that would be fun to watch the Mac against the Veyron or even the souped up loopy Ford GT40 that american guy added two mahosive turbo's to to take it past 1000bhp

Isn't the CTR the Yellowbird? Based on the 1987 Turbo?
The CTR2 was the 993 Turbo Ruf and since then they have been called the R Turbo?
If so, for a 1987 car, that is just silly speed...
As put in Spaceballs... Ludicrous speed .

The '87 YellowBird was the first road car to exceed 200mph from I remember, I could be wrong.
Keep a watch out for the Bristol T-Fighter or whatever its called. 700bhp claimed 250mph top end, they're branding it as the Veyron beater anyways...should be interesting.

been out in a veyron and believe me when i say that until you experience it you really really cant imagine it(check my last posts for info),been on the back of many friends superbikes ie 2000 zx12(tuned),numerous r1s and gsxr1000s,the veyron is a completely different experience.no wheelspin just pure pure accel!awesome!no car alive apart from top fuel and drag cars could compare, goes from 60 to way past 200 like it s being chased by gary glitter!

Fast as the Veyron undoubtebly is, it won't detach a retina like a Top Fueler, amazing acheivement though to build something with 1000 bhp that will also go round a corner and not go out of its way to kill you.
Fastest I have been in was a 911 Turbo years ago and that felt fast, god knows what they Veyron must be like, the trouble with bikes is that as a pillion you are too busy trying not to slide off the back to enjoy !

I'm still to be convinced of the Veryon/F1 120/200 mph story. It's never been tried has it? The Veryon is only .3 or .4 seconds faster down the 1/4 mile than a standard F1 and no faster than an F1 LM and thats with 4wd and traction control that the F1 hasn't got. A standard F1 has a better power to weight ratio than the Veryon as well, the LM even more so. Not saying it isn't possible but i'd like to see it proven!

That Veyron is just
The guy who drives the CTR is named Adam and is an active member of the M5 board, that CTR is faster at higher speeds then his other RUF 996 Turbo... He has quite a few videos on the board and is one Lucky Guy to be able to have those cars at his age!!
Would be good to see Andy F or Paul Blamire's car up against that veyron on an airstrip...

Edit - 5 min of research has just shown me that the F1 in standard road trim would take 19.3 sec to go from 120-200 MPH. The Veyron does 0-200MPH in ~22 seconds (can't find any independantly tested figures for this, the time varies depending on where you look). So Clarkson was exagerating a bit
