Back to the 70's
That wasnt a waste back in the 70's, there were thousands of the things !
That treatment wasnt unusual either and that particular car is a historical artifact and just as horrid as it was in the 70's, beer keg for a petrol tank, got to love it !

I am sure I saw that either in one of my old Hot Rod magazines or possibly at the Belle Vue Rod and Custom show in Manchester as a kid !
Its funny, the Capri isnt a bad looking car and done well it can be really nice, especially the Mark 1, why is it then that the Capri attracts those who do stuff like that to it ?
I kind of like that in a nostalgic way, I can just imagine 'Dave' cruising the streets of Manchester listening to Roxy Music thinking he's the man back in 1978.

I would take great satisfaction is buying that and give it one last shred of dignity by taking it banger racing (essex v6 should pull well with those 3 webbers)
Body is horrible, colour is horrible, interior is disturbing.
And to cap it off the body is a smorgasbord of badly prepped body filler creating lumps and bumps comparable to my ex's cellulite. To cap it off the door seams don't fit, the clear coat is as flat as a pancake and that weld seams on the front inner wings looks suspect too.

No mate the fact that they were antique, rusty and a bit crap saw them off, remember my Mk 1 Golf GTI after Capris, a 1.6 Capri wouldnt see which way the Golf went.
Still love them though !
