MKIII Wing mirror

Does anyone have a link to a how-to guide for changing a wing mirror on a MKIII Golf convertable please?

It's for a mate at work who isn't quite sure if the door needs to come off or not...

Remove the door card, remove the trim covering the wiring for the mirror and then undo the 3 screws and off it comes
