Default Should I buy it?

My mate works in a Renault dealership, and they've had a Clio V6 in for the past week.
It's a 2002 52 plate with 29k on the clock, and it's £13k.

I know it's overpriced but having spoken to the dealership boss, he's offered me £7500 for my MY00 UK turbo. My car books at £5600.
In addition, they'll knock £500 off the price of the car to cover the insurance increase, give 12-months warranty and do a full service before they let me have it, aswell as the usual scrath removal (although there's only one and virtually invisible).

I was given the keys for the car and drove it for an hour with my mate beside me, so had a decent chance to try it out, and was impressed with the way it drove and the way it went (I doubt it would be far behind my 320 bhp scoob) and the attention it got was surprising.

It wouldn't necessarily have been the car I would have gone for next, but given the way the scoob prices are going, it doesn't seem like a bad deal.

What do you guys reckon?

Do you mean 2005 55 or 2002 02 plate?! If it's a Mk.2 Clio, then its a great price and you should definitely do it. If it's a Mk.1, then it's still OK, but not as appealing.

Bottom line is that if you like the car and fancy a change, go for it.

Careful if it is a 2002 plater as the cam belt would need doing in the next year or so iirc, and that's an engine out job.

Sorry mate, I meant it's a 2002 52 plate, so a MK1.
The problem is, I don't know if it's what I want and I'm not bored of the scoob after nearly two years, and that's something I've never been able to say about any other car i've owned .
I'm not convinced that my heart's really in it TBH

At the end of the day its up to you, if you fancy a change then do it. Hopefully you won`t regret it. many people on here have changed marques and eventually come back, whether it be 6 weeks, 6 months or 6 years.
Follow your instinct

Just a thought Matt. But can`t you blag a weekend test drive in it? Then you can maybe think it out that bit more, before changing, I would
You may grow to love it, you may hate it.
There are somethings in life you may regret doing and this maybe one of them. Just trying to give you my perspective of the matter.
Or if the weekend blag doesn`t work, ask for an extended test drive
thats if you haven`t already

I think they'd let me have it for a few hours, but I doubt a weekend. They're a bit protective of it.

Just been talking to my mate about it and it's trashing my head thinking about it.
