Default 106 GTi Gearbox question - Speedo

I just fitted a new gearbox into my 106GTI, my car was 1998 and I fitted a gearbox off of a 2001. It fitted fine and feels lovely but have noticed the speedo seems to overread now. So when im going 25mph im actually going just over 30mph and the gap seems to open up the faster I go.

Any ideas what could have cause this and is there any way of recalibrating the speedo ???

Thanks

Take the old speed sensor from your original gearbox and use that one, the later cars had different clocks
