For my next car im looking at buying either:

A4 Avant 2.8 quattro or
S4 Avant

just wondering if anyone knows performance figures for these 2 models or where i could look them up.

I could spend 5 - 6 k on an old A4 2.8 or save for longer and spend 10 -12k on an old S4, what i need to know is if there is significant difference performance wise. Im assuming the s4 is better given the price tag but would like some reassurance.

I cant get the audi forum to work at the moment so hoping someone on here can help

if I was you mate dont bother with the ****ty 2.8 and get a facelifted 1998-2001 1.8T with 170hp and just chip it. The 2.8 only had 193hp.

the 1.8T option looks good around 5 - 7k for a decent one with fairly low mileage

i just had an insurance quote for the s4 which puts it a bit out of reach for now

so assuming i go for a 1.8t can anyone recommend a place i can take it to do all the necessary mods ? preferably southern uk
