HI all. Im thinking of buying a BMW 530 D Sport. The car Im looking at is a private sale for £11500 on Irish plates with 115k on it, suede interior, metallic silver in colour, halo lights etc. Is there anything I need to look out for with this type of car, common problems etc. Any help appreciated.

I drive them at work .... we have had alot of turbo's go, a couple of intercoolers pack up and the pipes blow off the turbo/intercooler somewhere ...... other than that they have been very good. All under warranty and at mileages under 80K

Your better off with a lower mileage petrol. That is way too much for a diesel of that age. Here's an example.....

I am based in the Republic Of Ireland where we have to pay VRT (vehicle registration tax) which afaik is 20% on top of the book value of the car. Rip off Ireland or what!! Couldn't you come over here, buy and export it back? You will get a lot more for your money.
