Does the water pump get changed on the Passat PDs with the longitudinal mounted engine when the timing belt is changed, or is that only for the Golfs / Ibizas with transverse-mounted PD engines?

Also, does anyone know if the interval is 60K / 5 years?

Mine was done on my Passat 2001 130 sport at 100k, no mention on the invoice of a waterpump. It was done at VW.

Thanks, I asked because two different main dealers gave two different answers.

One said 60K / 5 years and it was belt & tensioner only, the other said 40K / 4 years and mentioned the waterpump.

Nice to know they're all on the same page
