Alfa 147 GTA
Cant search at the moment and just wondered if any of you guys have had any experience of these ? Of course as per any Alfa there are the reliability issues but more interested in the day to day usability.

Day to day usability ??????
Day 1, Turn out of garage and drive home. Make the mistake of hitting the loud pedal on a slight corner while not realising the TC is switched off. Front tyres light up, car goes straight on instead of round the corner. You crash !!
Day 2, Go buy something better !!

I'd love one. Only the Italians could put 250bhp through the front wheels and think it a sensible idea. There is a black one near me. See it most mornings. Sounds glorious and the driver always seems happy. Wonder why?!
Yes, I'm sure that they have more power than grip, but isn't that the way it should be? Put an equivalent price Subaru next to a GTA and I'll take the Alfa thanks.
The Alfa has soul, which is something a Subaru can only dream about.

funnily enough i looked at one of these on saturday in red,6 speed box ,massive pepperpot wheels and looked stunning ,especially under the bonnet ,all the luxuries too,id have one no probs, every one talks about vxr vr's st,cupra ,ctr etc ,id take the alfa over any of them without thinking twice. Its just about the only standard production front wheel drive car to go over 100 mph in the 1/4 mile sprint.

I've always fancied one of these GTA's ever since sitting in a lower version of one at the Motorshow a few years ago.
Prices on Alfas seem to drop a lot, a quick look on autotrader and you can find a 2 year old one for £12k, thats a hell of a lot of depreciation!! Great if your in the market for a 2nd hand one

Always wanted an Alfa until I owned and run one for a year, never again. I fell in love with the Italian looks (inside and out) but not the Italian build quality. Quality of a car usually shows on depreciation prices and the Alfa's is like the Titanic .
All my own opinion though, Wolfie.

Just such a cool car, look at that interior, smell the burning tyres, if we all went for sensible we would all be in 3 series, oh we are.
Cant be that daft, just drive it sensibly and be aware of its configuration, limitations and power, get an account at Kwik Fit.
