11/12 year old cars with only 50/60miles. hmmmmmm. Check out very carefully. I doubt the mileage can be verified anyway due to them being imports. Assume they've done double the mileage and would you still be interested?

do you think they would be worth a look though , don't want to dismiss on an assumption , and if I do go and have a look what should I look out for ? any advice / suggestions

Wouldn't touch a tiptronic myself, do you want to drive the car or feel like a passenger? Other than that they look OK, but front wheel drive puts me off, total PITA trying to get traction off the line.

I had one of these for six months, very good car. 2 litre V6 in a small car, the back seats were big enough for my kids. I had the tiptronic and had no problems with it at all. The only reasons the car went were my wife hated it, something to do with me being too old for it... oh and the dogs didn't fit in the boot. Best car I have had for cornering. The chassis was rusty on mine, they need to be wax oiled when they come into the country.

We've had 3, all GPX manual. one with 30k miles, one 50k mile and one 105k miles. The best car was actually the 105k miles, engine was still as sweet as a nut. Without exception every car had a good engine and gearbox, many have very slight oil leaks but so long as its not like a tap its no problem apart from dripping on the drive. Definately go for a GPX and manual, otherwise you'll regret it till you sell it. Lovely cars to drive, feels just like a little race car but not too hard on the bum. Something to do with the anti roll bar at the back makes a horrible knocking noise on every single one I've been in as you go over bumps, the owners club say its very common but cheap to put right and not an issue apart from the disconcerting noise.
All in all great fuel economy and very good value, look great and drive more responively than my impreza round the bends, its just a shame they are not rear wheel drive.
I'll dig a piccy out of the 105K miles one, it was an absolute minter!

I had one for two years from 60k to 100k (95 GPX manual). They're very nice cars in my opinion and will see quite a lot of stuff off (most people think they're all 1.8s). Just before mine was written off I was having loads transmission problems (the car needed a new clutch and gearbox which was going to set me back almost £2k parts and labour), so be very picky about the gearbox (which started to go around the 100k mark), also the clutch and some services are engine out jobs, so get quotes for services etc by your local guys, also get an insurance quote, because they're import only they're group friggin' 20!
Oh yeah, expect to be buying LOTS of front tyres, it used to love eating them
Aw well, I'm stuck with an AX with a Saxo engine now which is a giggle!
If you can afford it get it...they're a fun little car for the spondools!

Had a tip GPX a few years back.
Was good back then but drove one a few weeks back and could really tell how slow the chnage was.
I have a Red Manual GPX on the water as we speak, the manuals are much better IMO and worth the premium.
GPX manuals are getting quite expensive in Japan now (compared to other models of that ilk). So glad I got mine in the colour I wanted.
Overall though good fun in both tip an manual.

Pics of the old FTO:
Was a 1994 GPX manual, sunroof(V.rare), 17" alloys,5zigen fireball exhaust(best sounding you can get for an FTO) and 105K miles (actual miles was converted from km's electronically with the SVA prep). Was bought from japan in this state.
and one of the current one, the silver one was a way better car,
1995 GPX manual, 17" alloys
