Default 4 seater soft top sports car for weekend use??

Been angling after an Elise for some time to "supplement" my A4 diesel estate!

However missus reckons I should be looking out for a 4 seater, so we can use it together.

So is there anything out there that fits the bill?

Would be a 2nd car, needs to be fun to drive, reliable, would be used for work on decent days, and needs to be ok for the odd trackday, soft top, circa £15k I reckon!

Cheers,

Greg

Why 4 seats? None of the 4 seat convertible are 'that' fun to drive. Mostly they're nice cruisers. 2 seater then you're looking at great fun cars liket he Honda s2000, MX5, Z3/4, Boxster etc.

4 seats so "we" as a family of 4 can go out together.

I kinda agree with you, hence looking at an Elise, but thought I'd just ask around in case there was something out there I didn't know about!

Regards,
Greg

The only one I can think of that would be ok on a track day is the M3 conv. However, all these 4 seat convertibles are made from coupes or saloons so structurally, I wouldn't be comfortable stretching them round a track. chassis flex and warp etc. could stop things lining up if you get my meaning.

Get a cheap track car as well, elise, caterfield, old hot hatch etc and have proper fun round a track.

You can get a 205 GTi convertible. If you want to spend 15k on it, it should be quite a nice one

Mini Cooper Convertible?
Not ideal but would keep the missus happy I suspect.

Loads of tuning options too.
