lol I think youd have best luck on an elise forum. All I know on the subject is that the audi engine is heavier, if your talking about the 3.2 V6 but alot more powerful.

I'm talking about the 1.8 turbo unit, the 3.2 won't fit.

Getting my Honda Supercharged elise back next weekend 300 bhp should be awesome!!

Iv'e heard that the Audi engines are equaly impressive just a little heavier.

Good for 0-60 in about 4 seconds though!

www.maidstonesportscars.co.uk are doing mine.

The price worked out a bit more expensive than they actualy say as you need to upgrade the brakes etc to cope with the extra power.

You can have extras as well like baffled sump and oil cooler.

I was like a kid in a candy shop and went for the lot

Dave, what performance improvement are you expecting over the std Honda conversion? How much is it, and how is mpg/reliability affected?

The standard Supercharged one gives you around 300bhp but i have added different cams and lightened flywheel and performance clutch so i can launch it.

I also had to have better brakes upgraded suspension and upgraded radiator.

I also went for Oil cooler, baffled sump, larger exhaust, side pods, front spoiler, new seats, harnesses, Oz wheels and yoko Tyres.

It is probably going to come to 25k with all the extra bits that iv'e had done as i have had the lot.

I don't expect to get much more than 300bhp but i do expect it to have more torque.

You don't have to spend this much if you are thinking of having it done but i'm after a beast

Thats going to be insane!!!!

They go pretty well with the standard 118bhp - 300bhp+ will be about 400bhp/tonne - I expect you'll see 0-100mph in something silly 8 seconds or less if you can get the traction!!!

That'll be very interesting in the wet too

Evo magazine test drove one a few years ago.
Now if lotus made them with that much power, even I'd consider one.

Blink do a Honda conversion which I have driven in anger and its a brilliant route to go IMVHO. Does need some work on the suspension and brakes but if you throw 8k at it you will have a very quick car which will be reliable for lap after lap.

I've been a passenger in maidstone sports cars civic type r powered Elise... that was nice and quick, let alone a 300bhp supercharged version

Their car was a good alround package though, and a nice bit of sort of carbon fibre leather type stuff scattered about.

Yes thats with conversion and all the extras like the wheels, harness bars and a long list of engine extras.

Like i say you have to take into account suspension and brake upgrades plus i wanted decent seats etc.

I have questioned myself several times about the price and a lot of people think i'm nuts but hey you only live once

if you going to do it you gotta do it right

The basic conversion is 10k add 3.5k for the supercharger, then has been said there is a list of options. Plus you need to make sure the brakes etc are up to the job. Turbo Dave must have had everything, lol

Yep, I own an Audi Elise. 333bhp

In response to an above post, it is a smidge heavier than the Honda (though not much) but it is installed lower and further forward so balance isn't affected too much.

The conversion is very clean, and the chaps doing the conversion (AutoTeknix + ScaredStiff Racing) are top fellas. Quiet spoken, but know their stuff.

On track there's not much in the way of lag, and delivery is linear too if you look at the graphs.

Bear in mind, a supercharged Honda is going to cost you over £14K for a turnkey conversion, compared to £9K for an Audi conversion.

From memory, my car cost around £12K to buy, and then £9K for the conversion, and then a couple of £K for seats/harnesses/brakes. An amazing bang for your buck.

Picture of car:

I can't drive for toffee, but it stomps on practically everything on track.

Hi mate.

Is that an Elise or an Exige??

If it is an Elise then you have had more work than just the above done as in the spoiler roof etc

Looked to me like an Exige too! The Audi conversion, 9k for 333 bhp, that can't be right!

With the Audi conversion, I take it that's with a turbo? Is the rear boot space used up? Hows your mpg now?
